 about me

about me
I was born in 1976 in Stuttgart, Germany (the world capital city of the automobile industry, where the car was invented by Gottlieb Daimler, and where DaimlerChrysler and Porsche have their headquarters). Today I'm living in Konstanz, at the very south of Germany, 10 minutes to the Swiss border, 2 minutes to Lake Constance, the third biggest lake in Europe.

My little daughter, Laura Sophie, was born in 2002, and of course she is everything to me (and the reason why the time I can work on this page is restricted).

I also love inline skating, playing guitar, card and board games, painting, and music, especially by Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, AC/DC, Sinéad O'Connor and some German bands (like Die fantastischen Vier, Clueso and Wir sind Helden).

I started writing my first computer programs on a 8086 machine when I was nine years old. Having experience in (chronologically) QuickBasic, TurboBasic, TurboPascal, Assembler, PL/SQL, Delphi, Perl, C++, Java, PHP and C# (maybe some other I don't remember now), my favourite development solution still is Delphi.

I always enjoyed doing multimedia related things, starting with graphics and sound engines for MS DOS in assembler, and writing games (a jump'n'run for MS DOS and a shoot'm'up for Windows are the ones I'm most proud of) and graphic applications.

Currently I'm working at a machine vision company, writing image processing algorithms. Before that I was earning my money with database programming (ORACLE). But I always enjoy working on the things you can find at www.pegtop.net in my free time.
